Inspirations Celebration Recognition

Congratulations Team!

The Board of Directors of Communities In Schools of New Mexico (CISNM) proudly honors the strong, intelligent, and dedicated women of CISNM. These 25 remarkable women work tirelessly to support students in Santa Fe’s high-poverty public schools, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to stay in school and succeed.

Each of the honorees brings unique expertise and an unwavering commitment to service. Our team includes social workers, educators, policy advocates, researchers, a thanatologist, a writer, a graphic designer, a law enforcement officer, and a self-taught accountant. Many are parents, caretakers, graduate students, and community members answering a call to serve. Some of these extraordinary women have received notable recognition, including two honorees of the Santa Fe Hispanic Chamber of Commerce “40 Under 40 Award” and one recipient of the “CIS National All In For Students Award” in 2024.

Many of our staff grew up in Santa Fe or New Mexico, attending the very schools they now serve. Their lived experiences provide them with a deep understanding and empathy that enables them to form transformative relationships with students. They are torchbearers, illuminating paths for students to recognize their potential and achieve their dreams.

The impact of their work is evident in student success. In the 2023-24 school year, 99% of case-managed students remained in school, and 100% of case-managed seniors at Capital High School graduated. Since CISNM began working at Capital High in 2013, the graduation rate has increased from 59% to 89%. This success is a testament to the dedication, care, and perseverance of CISNM staff, ensuring that all students—regardless of their circumstances—have the support they need to thrive.
