Since 2019 CIS has raised and distributed over $1,060,000 to prevent eviction or utility shut offs, keeping families in safe, stable homes so students can focus on learning.
Here are some examples of our impact:
Family Engagement
- 29 family engagement events including meal nights, movie nights and homework support
- 270 hours of family engagement – including advocacy, wellness checks and agency referrals – combined with 1,151 parent communications, ensured families received the critical support needed to foster student success
Family Stability
- 107,000 healthy meals distributed through in CIS-run school food pantries (in partnership with The Food Depot)
- $65,000+ in Family Emergency Funds paid to landlords / utility companies to keep families in safe and stable homes
93% of school staff surveyed found CIS has a transformative or significant impact on enhancing parent, family and community engagement with the schools.
